Overview
Propellerhead Software (now Reason Studios) created Reason — one of the most influential music production tools ever made, used by everyone from bedroom producers to Grammy-winning artists. This was my first professional role, and it shaped everything that came after. At 22, I was designing interfaces for a product used by hundreds of thousands of musicians who cared deeply about every pixel. The users were passionate, opinionated, and deeply technical — the best possible audience to learn from.
My Role

Process
Worked as Interface Designer and UI specialist, translating complex audio software concepts into intuitive visual interfaces. Collaborated daily with world-class software engineers and sound designers who had built the tools that defined an entire genre of music production. Designed UI elements, product pages, and the company's web presence. Every design decision was scrutinized by a user base that noticed everything — this is where I learned that craft isn't optional, it's the baseline.

Outcome
Helped establish a digital presence that served the global Reason community — hundreds of thousands of musicians across every continent. More importantly, this role taught me the foundational principles I still work by: obsessive attention to detail, deep respect for users, and the understanding that the best interfaces are the ones that disappear. Everything in my career traces back to this starting point.
